As one of the biggest, most wide-reaching systems in our body, the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is our body’s mechanism for self-regulation.
When it’s healthy, stress can move through and out more easily, but when it’s burdened with old, stored survival stress (aka: trauma), it becomes dysregulated, and because the ANS touches so much of the body and mind, you can experience a host of issues.
Symptoms of an unhealthy nervous system

When I think about where I am now and what has been going on with me even the past few weeks and months compared to most of my life… it’s like my wildest dreams are taking place.
For years, I was trying to do work blindfolded. But as soon as I came to nervous system work, the blindfold came up and it finally all made sense and I could see. It was just a nectar. I consumed it all in the most nourishing and enjoyable way without major struggles.
When I was going through the ‘21 Day’ course, I literally felt from day to day like a veil was being lifted in terms of my perceptions. I had so many realizations, so many epiphanies.

As a mind-body life coach I suspected my nervous system was somewhat unregulated. Not always, but more often than I’d like, I would get ‘triggered’ for seemingly no reason and would experience jitters and low-level anxiety that wouldn’t switch off. Particularly, when turning within to notice my emotions. (Later, I’d learn that ‘orienting’ could settle this down.)
